What are Boot Camps?

“The Advanced Lighting series was by all accounts an excellent, engaging, and valuable experience.”

– Steve Poste, YRDSB School-Work Transition Consultant

The FASI Dance, Design, Film, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts boot camps are directed tailored for high school students and arts explorers, are up to 2-weeks long in length and are designed specifically for eager students considering university-level fine arts training. These boot camps end in a certificate that is a great item to include in portfolios and as a part of your audition package.

FASI’s series of boot camps run Monday to Friday, from July 2 – 26, 2013.

Program Dates: July 2 – 26, 2013

SERIOUSLY PREPARING

Theatre 2012, students learn about advance lighting for theatre and get a certificate for it!

These summer boot camps are more than just an exciting way to build your skills and have some fun at York’s beautiful facilities in the glory days of summer. FASI’s summer boot camps are about building serious skills for your future in the fine arts. The fine arts are more than just hobbies, jobs or careers: they are a way of life that involves constantly nurturing your skills, talents and creativity. By involving yourself in FASI before you go to university, you’re ensuring your skills are constantly growing in new and exciting ways.  Our workshops will build the skills required for auditions, portfolio evaluations and the interviews that are an integral part of the Fine Art higher education process.

“As a parent of a high school student with a passion for dance, seeing my daughter spend time on a university campus immersed in a post-secondary dance environment was ideal. FASI was intense and educational. We will be back.”

— Gillian Balfour, parent of a Hip Hop Boot Camp participant
